How to Coach Positive Thinking using a Gratitude Log Worksheet - Free Coaching Tool

How to use a Gratitude Log Coaching Tool for Positive Thinking Effectively

If you have clients or prospects who are prone to negative thinking, this gratitude exercise can help.

Gratitude is crucial because nothing makes you feel more free + happy than being thankful for what you have right here right now.

Feeling gratitude can be the first step to a positive mindset.

Gratitude is about feeling thankful for both the small + big things in your life.

The key is to encourage your client to feel sincerely thankful. Not to say ‘thanks for the sunlight’, ‘thanks for the roof over my head’ and feeling...empty.

With my FREE and BRANDABLE Gratitude Log, your client can pen down anything which makes her feel grateful + expansive for 31 days.

This is what the Free + Brandable Gratitude Log coaching tool looks like:

It’s part of my Positive Mindset Journal which is 100% done for you and ready for use with clients or sell to your followers.

Examples of Gratitude Log Activities for Coaching Clients

If your client does not have ideas on what to be grateful for, these are some examples:

  • Getting to enjoy her favourite meal that day

  • Meeting high-vibe friends who make her feel joyful

  • Listening to her favourite playlist

  • Having an uneventful and smooth sailing day at work

  • Being productive and feeling accomplished

  • Having kids who behave well that day

  • Being able to cook something delicious and wholesome

You get the idea!

Sincere gratitude is key.

If your client is in a bad space - and feeling grateful seems impossible - suggest to her to do ‘high-vibe’ activities.

Everyone’s ‘high-vibe’ list is different but these activities work for many of us:

  • cooking or baking

  • decluttering

  • Favourite music

  • exercising (yoga, HIIT - whichever suits her needs that day)

  • Doing something artistic (dance, doing makeup, drawing)

  • guided meditation (choose from the thousands available on YouTube!)

  • Doing something spontaneous and fun

ANY activity which lifts her mood and clears her negative outlook will work.

Once she is in a better head space, it’s easier to pinpoint the small things to be thankful for.

Do THIS to be Consistently Grateful for 31 Days

Practising gratitude for 31 days will train your client’s mind to look for positive things every single day. Even during difficult days.

But what if there is nothing positive that day?

Well, create something to look forward to!

Schedule for lunch at a nice place. Chat with a friend. Suggest for them to be intentional with planning pleasurable activities.

For this 31-day gratitude exercise, don’t skip days!

If being grateful feels like carving blood from a stone - we all have those days - CREATE something to feel happy and grateful about.

How does Gratitude Pave Way for Positive Thinking?

If you focus on the good things you have, you will train your mind to look at life with a ‘glass half-full’ approach. This applies to clients too.

You can’t feel fear, anxiety and feel gratitude at the same time.

And when your clients feel expansive + grateful, they will attract more wealth and goodness in their lives (but this is a topic for another time).

Feeling gratitude is the first step to having a positive mindset.

You can start this by encouraging your clients / prospects to pen down their gratitude list everyday for 31 days.
